Our members
Capella Nova Gainesville Inc is an auditioned community adult SATB ensemble in Gainesville, Florida
How we got started
Capella Nova Gainesville Inc founded by Joshua L. Mazur in 2018.
Under his leadership, they performed diverse repertoire from Purcell's Dido and Aneas, Vivaldi's Gloria, to serving as chorus for the official staged concert version of The Music Man.
From 2022-2025 the group's second Artistic Director, Claire R. Holland led the group in concerts including major works such as Mozart's Mass in D Major and Rutter's Requiem.
John-Peter S. Ford took the helm in 2025. Their December concert featured
Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata and Ola Gjeilo's Ubi Caritas. The most recent concert titled "Music For Journeys: Songs of Passage,
Hope, and the Road Home" was presented on April 18th, 2026. This thoughtful curated program explored the many paths
of the human experience -- from struggle and reflection to renewal and hope -- through a rich blend of
choral works spanning centuries.
